Evaluation of the Relationship Between Snow Cover Index and Land Surface Temperature for Sulaymaniyah City, Iraq

Abstract Changes in land surface reflectance measured by remote sensing data can be useful climate change studies. This study attempts to Evaluation of the relationship between Snow cover index and Land temperature for used Normalized snow (S3), Surface Temperature (LST), Sulaymaniyah city, northeastern Iraq. Data from Landsat5 TM Landsat8 OLI images were detect during period years 1987, 1999, 2009, 2022. ArcGIS 10.8 is determine variations calculate S3, NDVI, LST indices. All S3 maps have shown a decrease trend 1987 2022 which depicted decreases area. Also, has increased 13°C 19 °C also results showed correlation strong reverse existed each year. The found indicates that areas increase it leads inducing much changes cover.
